- RECRUITMENT OF A NATIONAL CONSULTANT - NATIONAL STUDY ON THE IDENTIFICATION, EVALUATION AND REFORM OF SUBSIDIES HARMFUL TO BIODIVERSITY IN GABONCountry: Libreville Gabon Mission description: Gabon is committed to the Global Biodiversity Framework biodiversity of Kunming-Montreal (2022) and in particular Target 18 which stipulates: Identify by 2025 and eliminate, gradually remove or reform subsidies harmful to biodiversity in a proportionate, fair, equitable and effective manner, while substantially and gradually reducing these subsidies by at least $500 billion per year by 2030, starting with the most harmful incentives, and scaling up positive incentives for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. Building on this commitment, a national assessment is essential to enable Gabon to: • Respect its international obligations • Optimize the allocation of its public resources • Strengthen the coherence of its public policiesIt is with this in mind that UNDP, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Ecology, wishes to recruit a consultant following the details provided for in these terms of reference.
